MagicX has confirmed that it will be releasing a new pocketable gaming handheld soon. Launching globally, the Mini Dream series will start at $80 despite featuring a high-resolution OLED display for its compact size.

MagicX has returned with a new teaser about one of its next retro gaming handhelds. For context, the company has announced numerous devices since it released the One 35 and the Emerald Green version of the Zero 40 (curr. $75 on Amazon). However, the likes of the Two Dream series continue to face delays.

Now, MagicX has revealed pricing and more specifications for one of four Mini Dream handhelds that are currently in development. For context, the Mini Dream was first teased in mid-July as an unnamed device with an OLED display. A few days later, MagicX confirmed the handheld's name with dedicated Android and Linux variants.

In a Discord post, the company clarifies that these will line up as the Mini Dream AL, Mini Dream AP, Mini Dream LL and Mini Dream LP, with 'A' and 'L' prefixes representing Android and Linux variants, respectively. Apparently, each model will feature a different chipset. Conversely, MagicX will distinguish Android and Linux variants with an active cooling solution for the former but not the latter.

The company adds that the Mini Dream LL measures 147 x 70 x 18 mm and weighs ~185 g, which would make it slightly smaller and lighter than the One 35. Moreover, the Mini Dream LL will combine a Rockchip RK3566 chipset with a 3,800 mAh battery and a 3.3-inch OLED display resolving at 1,024 x 768 pixels. MagicX has set pricing at $80 excluding shipping. Availability remains unknown for now, though.
