MagicX has announced a new retro handheld. Returning to its pocketable roots, the new handheld is its first to adopt an OLED panel. The unnamed OLED handheld will output at 768p too, despite only having a 3.3-inch display.

MagicX has had a busy few months after revealing that Two Dream handhelds faced delays. At the start of July, it teased the launch of an unnamed handheld with a squarer design than the existing Zero 40 (curr. $75.99 on Amazon).

Shortly afterwards, the company announced that the Mini Zero 28 had been discontinued. Then, MagicX announced that a Mini40 handheld is in development with a 4-inch display and two Rockchip processor variants. Now, the company has returned with a new teaser about a completely different handheld.

As the screenshot below shows, MagicX claims to have developed a custom OLED display with a 1,024 x 768-pixel native resolution. Spanning 3.3-inches diagonally, the display indicates that the handheld will be on the smaller side and should be relatively pocketable.

For the time being, MagicX has not revealed the name of this handheld. Instead, it has confirmed that it plans to launch the unnamed device in 2026. Exactly when remains unknown for now, though. Likewise, MagicX has not even hinted at what its first OLED handheld looks like yet.
