MagicX' new OLED handheld will arrive in Android and Linux variants

MagicX has revealed the name of its next handheld alongside a few details. The new handheld is confirmed to feature the custom OLED panel it announced earlier this month.

According to a post on its Discord channel, the next MagicX handheld will launch as the MagicX Mini Dream. Based on the phrasing, it means the device will arrive before the Mini40 and the unnamed MediaTek-powered handheld announced a few weeks ago.

The MagicX Mini Dream will have a 3.3-inch OLED display with a 1024 × 768 resolution. MagicX has also disclosed that the device will feature a full-glass front cover that is color-matched to the shell similar to the Retroid Pocket 6. Another detail provided is that the Mini Dream handheld will be available in Android and Linux versions, while the price range is between $80 and $180.

While no other technical details have been provided, MagicX did say that it will be making some improvements to its production process. The post mentions that going forward, the quality control process will be stricter and there will be improvements in the reliability of its supply chain and components. It will also improve the craftsmanship of its devices as well as system tuning and optimization.

The MagicX Mini Dream is still in the early stages of development, but the manufacturer has promised to share more details when it reaches key milestones.
