Ayaneo Pocket Micro 2 global restock arrives with cheaper Purple version also released
Ayaneo has issued a last-minute update for its Pocket Micro 2 gaming handheld. To recap, the pocket-sized handheld arrived on June 26 for $239. Powered by a Snapdragon 865 chipset, the Pocket Micro 2 should be significantly more powerful than the Helio G99-backed Pocket Micro Classic and Pocket Micro (curr. $229 on Amazon).
Unfortunately, Ayaneo quickly sold through all the Pocket Micro 2 units it had created. In fact, the company had only produced 100 units for global distribution, with over 1,000 sold in China. Now, Ayaneo has confirmed that the Pocket Micro 2 'is coming back' later on June 10 at 20:00 PDT. In other words, the company's restock will not go live until 03:00 UTC on June 11.
Setting that aside, Ayaneo has not confirmed how many units it plans to sell this time. Instead, it has clarified that the Pocket Micro 2 will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Moreover, the company has added a Stardust Purple edition to its 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage tier. Full Pocket Micro 2 pricing is as follows:
- $239 - 6 GB RAM/128 GB storage/Frosty White or Midnight Black finishes
- $269 - 6 GB RAM/128 GB storage/Stardust Purple finish
- $269 - 8 GB RAM/256 GB storage/Frosty White or Midnight Black finishes
- $309 - 8 GB RAM/256 GB storage/Stardust Purple finish
