Konkr Pocket Advance: Ayaneo reveals display and dimensions of its new handheld

Ayaneo had a product sharing session today, during which it revealed more details of its upcoming handheld, the Konkr Pocket Advance. However, as Ayaneo is known to do, there are still details of the handheld it is yet to disclose.

The Konkr Pocket Advance is a device that pays homage to Nintendo's Game Boy Advance handheld, and that is evident in its design. According to Ayaneo, the handheld will be available in two retro-inspired colors — Navy Blue and Coral Orange. While these are the colors that will be available at launch, we won't rule out the possibility of Ayaneo releasing more colors, maybe even special editions, in the future.

It was also revealed that the Konkr Pocket Advance will have a 3.5-inch high definition LCD panel for its display. The screen has a 960 × 640 resolution and a 3:2 aspect ratio, and Ayaneo says that it can accurately restore the details of retro game graphics through 4x point-to-point display technology.

Other key details such as the processor, RAM, storage, and battery capacity have not yet been revealed, but the Konkr Pocket Advance is confirmed to have a USB 2.0 Type-C port with support for PD fast charging and a microSD card slot. It also has Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, and an audio jack.

The handheld measures 151.3 × 82.4 × 22 mm and weighs approximately 224 grams, which is almost double the 140 grams weight (188 grams with two AA batteries) of the Game Boy Advance.

Ayaneo will ship the Konkr Pocket Advance with Android pre-installed along with its custom software features such as its retro game management software called AYASpace, AYAHome custom launcher, and a handheld settings management system called AYASetting. 

Ayaneo didn't say when the Konkr Pocket will be released and how much it will cost. However, we expect these details will be released through its social media channels or during another product sharing session.

The product sharing session also showed the Konkr Pocket in action as Arthur, Ayaneo's CEO, is seen playing a few GBA games as well as a classic God of War game. There's also a brief look at the handheld's menu, and it shows that it will be capable of emulating different consoles up to the PS2.
