AMD-powered GPD Win Max 3 shows strong gaming performance in official benchmarks

GPD is gearing up to launch a powerful handheld gaming PC, the Win Max 3. Most of the core specs of the system have been revealed, including the fact that it will be powered by the AMD Strix Halo APUs. The top-end option will feature the Ryzen AI Max+ 395, while the second config will pack the Max+ 388.

Both come with the Radeon 8060S, a capable RDNA 3.5 iGPU that delivers the same level of performance as the RTX 4070 Laptop (Asus V16 curr. $1,467.49 on Amazon). This also means that the GPD Win Max 3 will be able to handle modern AAA titles without any issues, at least at 1080p resolution, and the newly revealed performance metrics from the company state the same.

With a detailed post on Weibo, GPD has revealed several performance-focused benchmarks done on the Win Max 3. It's worth noting that the company seems to be using the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 configuration for these metrics, but things shouldn't be too different for the Max+ 388 config.

As GPD claims, the Win Max 3 can run Apex Legends with over 190FPS and Forza Horizon 5 with over 98FPS with the visual settings at the highest. The company adds that the handheld gaming PC can maintain at least 70FPS while running Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Borderlands 3, Cyberpunk 2077, and Baldur's Gate 3. These games are tested with "full special effects" graphics settings.

It's worth noting that these games were tested with the TDP set between 55W and 75W. Moreover, they were benchmarked with the resolution set to 1080p. For those interested in learning more, the Win Max 3 was detailed through Droix earlier in July 2026, which we have a separate coverage of.

There's, however, no concrete word on the price yet, but GPD has teased that the Win Max 3 will be cheaper than the OneXplayer 3 that's powered by the Intel Arc G3 Extreme. For reference, the Intel-powered handheld has a starting retail price of $1,499, and goes up to $1,799 for the variant with 32GB of RAM.
