During its earnings call on February 6, 2025, Take-Two Interactive confirmed plans to support the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. CEO Strauss Zelnick stated that the company backs Nintendo platforms whenever it aligns with its strategy.
Zelnick pointed out that Nintendo once focused more on a younger audience, which is why Take-Two released only a few titles on its earlier consoles, including Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars for the DS and BioShock Infinite for the Wii U. However, the Switch has attracted a broader audience, resulting in more Take-Two games on the platform compared to the Wii U. The next Take-Two title for the Switch, Civilization VII, launches on February 11. With the Switch 2 on the horizon, an expanded release strategy seems likely.
Take-Two has yet to reveal its game lineup, but speculation is already running wild on platforms like Reddit. At the heart of the discussion is GTA 6, though some fans are also hoping for Borderlands 4 on Nintendo’s new console. However, most consider this unlikely and instead expect ports of GTA 5, Red Dead Redemption 2 or other 2K titles. The biggest concern is technical feasibility. Since the Switch 2’s exact hardware capabilities remain unknown, doubts persist about whether it can handle these demanding games.
