Nintendo Switch 2 price may have been leaked

A couple of images concerning the Nintendo Switch 2 have made their way online. They allegedly come from someone who works for Costco in Canada, with the second image supposedly supporting the information in the somewhat fishy first image. The initial photo to be shared online simply states “Nintendo Switch place holder” (with “place” spelled incorrectly) along with a price tag of $499.99. With this amount being in Canadian dollars, the current exchange rates for some major markets would be around $350 (US), €340, AUD$558, and £282.

However, this possible Switch 2 price is then backed up by a screenshot taken from a warehouse database computer, with the display showing a listing for a “Nintendo Switch placeholder”. Again, the figure of 499.99 can be seen in the price line. This certainly does not confirm that the Switch 2 price will be CAD$499.99, and it would be quite simple to either fake this kind of information or for Costco to have made an educated guess of the price without any input from Nintendo. But these details do at least come from a major international retailer, so they are potentially the most accurate leaked yet.

In terms of guessing the Nintendo Switch 2 price for other markets based on this Canadian amount, it may suggest around $399 for the US, perhaps €400-450 for Europe, and in the region of £350 for the UK. However, a couple of other factors need to be taken into account here, and that is already presuming this Costco Switch 2 placeholder is accurate: There could be multiple Switch 2 SKUs so this could even be the price for something like a Switch 2 OLED Model, and it could also be potentially for a Switch 2 bundle. Of course, a huge pinch of salt is definitely required, but such price tags would certainly amount to a strategy of aggressive pricing from Nintendo.
