Deal | Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5 Gen 9 OLED laptop is now retailing for 47% less than list price with latest discount
Windows laptop makers often drop the prices of their existing notebook models when a newer version is introduced. Companies do this mainly to clear inventory of the outgoing models. This has now happened with the Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5 Gen 9 (16AHP9).
Lenovo introduced the IdeaPad Pro 5 Gen 10 with Intel’s newest H-Series Core Ultra 200 CPUs at CES 2025. Following this, the company is now selling the IdeaPad Pro 5 Gen 9 with a 16-inch OLED display for only $650 on eBay. This is a big $570 discount over the $1,219.99 list price.
The discounted IdeaPad Pro 5 Gen 9 gets you a Ryzen 5 8645HS APU, an RTX 3050 laptop GPU, 16 GB of LPDDR5x-6400 memory, 512 GB of storage, and a 16-inch OLED display. The 2048 x 1280 panel refreshes at 120 Hz while boasting an advertised 100% DCI-P3 coverage.
Moreover, the laptop features an 84 Wh battery and Wi-Fi 6E/BT 5.1 alongside a packed port selection which includes:
- Two Type-C ports with DP and PD (1x USB 4)
- Two Type-A ports
- A single HDMI out
- One 3.5 mm jack
- A full-sized SD card slot
Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5 puts its hardware to good use
In the IdeaPad Pro 5 Gen 9, Lenovo has crafted a laptop with few shortcomings. The notebook excels in performance, low operating temperatures, superb OLED display, and two SSD slots for storage expansion. These qualities resulted in the machine getting a “very good” 88% rating in our review of the Intel Meteor Lake version of the notebook.
While the IdeaPad Pro 5 Gen 9 on sale is a different SKU with a Ryzen 5 8645HS APU, the overall picture remains the same. The 6-core AMD APU is in the same performance range as the Core Ultra 7 155H of our review unit. Plus, with the addition of the RTX 3050 dGPU, the IdeaPad Pro 5 Gen 9 is suited for both light gaming and content creation.
All in all, the Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5 Gen 9 (16 AMD) is a solid multimedia contender that nails the essentials. For the current asking price, few laptops are able to match the combination of the OLED screen, battery life, and performance provided by the IdeaPad Pro 5 Gen 9.
