Renowned leaker Evan Blass showed off most of what Lenovo has lined up for MWC 2025. It included mid-cycle refreshes for existing SKUs and an innovative new ThinkBook with a foldable screen. Now, we get to see two more, and one will definitely raise some eyebrows.
First, we have what Lenovo might call the "Magic Bay Module". Essentially, it is a sleeve-like contraption you can put on your laptop to add up to two new displays, likely via USB-C. This looks similar to what Razer tried with Project Valerie, which, unfortunately, did not materialize into anything tangible. Still a more elegant solution than what Expanscape cooked up back in the day.
Next up, we have what may be one of the most polarizing concepts to ever come out of Lenovo. It shows off a laptop screen with a solar panel integrated into its back. This should, in theory, allow you to charge your laptop in the sunlight and use it later in the day. The Yoga-branded laptop is surprisingly thin and comes with a notch to house its webcam.
Of course, that raises several questions. For starters, a minuscule solar panel on what looks like a 13-14-inch screen even generates enough wattage to power a laptop battery. Even if it does, exposing sensitive electronics to sunlight for extended times comes with its own challenges. Nevertheless, this looks to be an intriguing concept, one that will not see the light of day (literally and figuratively) for years to come.
