Lenovo introduced several innovative products at MWC 2025, including the ThinkBook Codename Flip. This concept laptop features a foldable 18.1-inch OLED display, offering professionals flexible work modes and AI-powered productivity tools to enhance multitasking and collaboration.

At MWC 2025, Lenovo unveiled a new concept business laptop called the ThinkBook Codename Flip. The company believes this is a device designed to meet the evolving needs of professional users.

Foldable display

The highlight of the concept laptop is its unique design, incorporating a foldable OLED panel that allows the display to be used in various ways for enhanced productivity of professionals.

The 18.1-inch display expands vertically to offer a larger screen size when needed. It can revert to a compact 13-inch form for traditional laptop tasks.

Thanks to the foldable display, the laptop can be used in five different modes:

  • Clamshell Mode: This mode uses the 13-inch form factor for everyday tasks like browsing, etc.
  • Vertical Mode: This mode expands the screen vertically for more screen real estate, ideal for document reading, programming, etc.
  • Share Mode: Enables dual-screen collaboration, allowing users to share content with others or work on multiple applications side by side.
  • Tablet Mode: This mode works similarly to a Yoga-series laptop, enabling users to use the laptop as a tablet for touch-based tasks.
  • Read Mode:  It offers a distraction-free reading experience with an adjusted screen for comfort and reduced eye strain.

Smart ForcePad

The new Smart ForcePad is an interactive input feature incorporating a three-layer illuminated dashboard. The purpose of the Smart ForcePad is to streamline the user experience. With this feature, users can easily access numeric keys and media buttons.

Specifications

The concept laptop leverages AI to improve productivity and streamline workflows. To meet the AI requirements, it relies on the Intel Core Ultra 7 processor along with 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM. It has a PCIe SSD for fast data access. For connectivity, the ThinkBook Codename Flip features Thunderbolt 4 ports for faster data transfer speeds. It also has a fingerprint reader for secure login.

AI features

Apart from the foldable screen, AI is another key element of the concept device. It brings "Workspace Split Screen" feature, allowing users to run multiple apps side-by-side without the need for external monitors.

There is also a built-in AI assistant for better productivity and task automation. Additionally, the laptop is compatible with modular accessories including Magic Bay Dual Display Concept and Magic Bay Tiko.

The Magic Bay Dual Display Concept is a 13.3-inch attachable secondary screen that transforms the laptop into a multi-screen workstation, ideal for multitasking and collaboration. Meanwhile, the Magic Bay Tiko is a compact AI companion that provides personalized notifications, real-time status updates, and interactive features to enhance productivity.

The ThinkBook 'Codename Flip' AI PC Concept is an example of our forward-thinking vision, where AI-powered devices provide greater efficiency, personalization, and collaboration than ever before."  - Eric Yu, SVP of SMB and Commercial Product Center at Lenovo Intelligent Devices Group.

As the name suggests, this is a proof of concept. Hence, it is not yet available for purchase. However, it serves as a strong representation of Lenovo's vision for the future of business laptops.
