Powkiddy has now started taking pre-orders for the V20, less than a month after details about the device surfaced online. As expected, while the V20 follows the naming scheme of last year's V10, it is closer in design to the older RGB20S (curr. $66.89 on Amazon).
The V20 does not use Rockchip's RK3326 chipset like the RGB20S or V10, though. Instead, Powkiddy equips it with the Allwinner A133P, which can be found inside other retro gaming handhelds like the MagicX Mini Zero 28, TrimUI Brick and TrimUI Smart Pro. Powkiddy also includes a 1 GB of DDR3 RAM. As a result, the V20 should be powerful enough to emulate up to PlayStation Portable and Nintendo 64 games, albeit with frame skip enabled in some cases.
The V20 finds itself with a 3.5-inch and 640 x 480-pixel IPS display, as well as a 5,000 mAh battery and a 1 W speaker. Currently, Powkiddy charges $54.99 for the V20 with a 64 GB microSD card in black transparent, white and yellow finishes. While the handheld is also available with a 128 GB microSD card for $10 extra, a second microSD card can be used for storing games.
