Garmin is continuing with its twin track strategy of Enduro 3, Fenix E and Fenix 8 software development. For some reason, the company has not moved the trio onto stable v13.xx builds yet. Instead, it is now pushing v12.xx updates on its stable branch that it has not publicly beta tested.
While Garmin issued Software Version 12.38 for the Enduro 3, Fenix E and Fenix 8 (curr. $1,099.99 on Amazon) last week, it has since published Beta Version 13.28 for the same smartwatches. The new beta update has arrived with its Dive and ECG features disabled, which is a sign that Garmin is planning to offer more beta builds before moving v13.xx onto its stable branch.
Beta Version 13.28 only contains bug fixes from Beta Version 13.25. On the one hand, the new update should resolve an issue that caused Garmin's new passcode leak feature to prevent music and maps from downloading in the background. On the other hand, Beta Version 13.28 should no longer disable turn guidance alerts, which could unintentionally occur on older beta updates. Please Garmin's forum post for more details.
