Ayaneo Classic: Ayaneo teases new gaming handheld to rival Anbernic RG28XX

Ayaneo released the Ayaneo 3 less than a month ago. To recap, that device utilises AMD's Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 APU to provide a Windows 11 gaming experience, just like the OneXFly F1 Pro. Prior to that, Ayaneo refreshed the Pocket S and Pocket Micro with new colour options. Now, the company has teased an entirely new device, which appears to sit alongside its existing Android-based gaming handhelds.

The image below indicates that the device will eventually arrive as the Ayaneo Classic rather than as a new member of the company's Pocket series. Nonetheless, the silhouette shown closely follows that of the Pocket Micro. For instance, front-firing speakers can be made out, as can in-line shoulder buttons set into a boxy body.

The teaser also implies that the Ayaneo Classic will be a simpler alternative to the Pocket Micro. To that end, silloheutes for joysticks are missing, which sit underneath the Pocket Micro's d-pad and ABXY buttons. Instead, we suspect that Ayaneo has done away with joysticks altogether, much like Anbernic does on its RG35XX line and its comparable RG28XX (curr. $54.99 on Amazon). Ayaneo has not shared any other details at this stage. The company's CEO has hinted that the Classic is one of many 'new products' that Ayaneo has up its sleeve, though.
