The Nintendo Switch 2 is set to launch this year, but its exact release date and other details remain a mystery. A new report suggests that the console may debut with a price increase over its predecessor.

Nintendo is all set to release its next handheld gaming console: the Switch 2. It will succeed the original Switch that came out in 2017. For now, the company has only released a trailer revealing the new design of the Switch 2. More information regarding the device will be revealed in Nintendo Direct, which is scheduled for April 2nd.

Until then, we have leaks and rumors surfacing online that reveal potential details of the upcoming handheld console. A new report (via Wccftech) reveals the pricing of the Switch 2.

Analyst Joost van Dreunen estimates that the Nintendo Switch 2 will be priced at $399. This means the Switch 2 may get a $100 price jump from the original Switch that launched at $299. However, a recent leak suggested that the price may be around 499 CAD roughly translating to 350 USD.

Nintendo Switch 2 expected hardware improvements

The Nintendo Switch 2 is said to bring major hardware improvements over its 8-year-old predecessor. It is rumored to utilize the Nvidia Tegra T239 processor featuring 8 cores. The chip is based on an 8nm architecture. The new console may use 12GB RAM, up from 4GB on the original Switch. The Switch 2 may also feature Nvidia's DLSS upscaling technology ensuring further performance enhancement.

For now, Nintendo has not confirmed the specifications and pricing of the Switch 2, hence, it’s advisable to treat this information with caution.
