Light No Fire is the latest project from Hello Games, the studio behind the now-successful No Man's Sky. Instead of exploring deep space, players will venture into a lively fantasy world with dynamic biomes. Announced in late 2023, the game was unveiled with this trailer:
An entire Earth to explore
The story of No Man’s Sky is well known – a highly anticipated release that left players disappointed, only to evolve into a success through years of updates. This experience has made Hello Games more cautious. Unlike before, Light No Fire avoids bold promises, sharing only solid details. However, one claim stands out and sounds all the more exciting: The survival RPG will offer a fully explorable Earth with no artificial boundaries.
YouTuber Fextralife sees potential
In Light No Fire, players don’t step into the role of a traditional hero but forge their own path in a dynamic multiplayer world. The game blends survival mechanics with classic RPG elements, requiring players to gather resources, craft gear and build settlements. They can tame wild creatures, soar on dragons, set sail and explore a vast, ever-changing landscape.
In November 2024, popular YouTuber Fextralife, who has over a million subscribers, shared a detailed preview of Light No Fire. He praised the game's vast world, the integration of exploration, crafting and survival elements, as well as its dynamic biomes. However, he noted several uncertainties, particularly regarding the multiplayer model and potential console versions. The Reddit community also shows significant interest in Light No Fire. The subreddit r/LightNoFireHelloGames has nearly 25,000 members actively engaging in discussions and speculations about the game.
No release date known yet
Light No Fire is anticipated to launch in late 2025, though no official release date has been announced yet. In the meantime, players can add the survival RPG to their Steam wishlist. As of now, it ranks seventh among the most wishlisted games on Steam.
