With the GeForce RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti expected to drop sometime in late March, Nvidia is sunsetting its Ada Lovelace-based predecessor. A leaker on the ITHome forums says RTX 4060 supply could be cut down by up to 60% in the coming weeks.
If true, we can expect the RTX 4060 to get discounted in the coming weeks, making it an ideal time to buy one. Specs-wise, the RTX 5060 doesn't have much going for it other than DLSS 4 and other software trickery. Hence, now would be an ideal time for budget PC builders to get their hands on an Nvidia GPU.
It aligns with an earlier rumour that heraladed their discontinuation. hat said, you're better off with a 16 GB GeForce RTX 4060 Ti if your budget permits. Not only does it come with a faster GPU, but the extra 8 GB VRAM will help it stay relevant for longer.
But with the GeForce RTX 4060 supply being constrained, it is only a matter of time before its Ti version gets the same treatment. Nonetheless, even when the RTX 4060 gets discontinued, the Arc B580 and AMD's Navi 44 SKUs should help fill the gap.
