Asus ROG Strix XG27UCDMG: 27-inch 240Hz gaming monitor launches with Samsung QD-OLED 4K panel and 145% sRGB coverage

Asus has introduced the ROG Strix OLED XG27UCDMG, a 26.5-inch 4K QD-OLED gaming monitor that looks to be catered towards competitive gamers who prefer high refresh rates and low response times. The high-end monitor has a 3840x2160 resolution and a 240Hz refresh rate, so you get both sharp visuals and smooth motion. It comes with a 0.03ms GTG response time for low motion blur. The monitor also supports G-Sync and FreeSync Premium Pro for variable refresh rate performance.

The Samsung-manufactured fourth-generation QD-OLED panel covers 99% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and 145% of sRGB, with VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black certification for high contrast. Asus OLED Care Pro includes a Neo proximity sensor that dims the screen when not in use to reduce burn-in risk. OLED Anti-Flicker 2.0 should help maintain brightness while reducing flickering.

The monitor features two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4 (DSC), and a USB-C port with 90W power delivery. A USB hub with three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports should further expand connectivity.

Gaming-specific features include GamePlus, which enables crosshairs, timers, and FPS counters for in-game assistance, and GameVisual, which offers preset display modes optimized for different game genres by adjusting color, contrast, and brightness settings. Shadow Boost is also present for enhanced visibility in dark areas, while ELMB (Extreme Low Motion Blur) should cut down on ghosting. Plus, DisplayWidget Center allows on-screen adjustments, and a KVM switch should be great for seamless switching between connected devices.

The monitor is VESA AdaptiveSync Display 240Hz certified and has TÜV-certified low blue light hardware. Asus has equipped the monitor with a custom heat sink as well. The stand supports height, tilt, swivel, and pivot adjustments and is VESA mount compatible (100x100mm).

At the time of writing, the monitor has only been unveiled in China, and it is priced at 6,499 yuan (~$899) on JD.com, as per IT Home. Global availability is unconfirmed as of now.
