Oppo's main sub-brand OnePlus touts its latest "2K ProXDR" 120Hz OLED display as the best one for flagship smartphones thanks to its industry-leading color depth and quality, brightness and support for technology such as Dolby Vision and HDRVivid.
Accordingly, the OEM has been projected to use the same screen in its upcoming Find X8 Ultra, a device for which Oppo's best Hasselblad-branded rear cameras have also allegedly been reserved.
That is more or less correct, according to the typically accurate tipster Digital Chat Station - albeit with a surprising last-minute twist, Oppo has apparently decided to go with a different version of the same 6.82-inch front panel that is completely flat (like that of a top-end iPhone) for the X8 Ultra.
The OEM is tipped to minimize its bezels using cutting-edge "LIPO" technology, as opposed to the subtle quad-curved effect intended to do the same in the OnePlus 13.
The alleged design upgrade could also make the Find X8 Ultra thinner, especially compared to its arguably chunky (9.5mm high) predecessor.
The Find X8 Ultra is now backed to set the trend for subsequent super-high-end Android handsets thereafter on its possibly imminent debut in China.
Therefore, it will be very interesting to see if the Vivo X200 Ultra and Xiaomi 15 Ultra really do follow its lead in this regard.
