Lava unveils the Yuva Smart entry-level smartphone with a 5,000 mAh battery

Lava has introduced another new sibling in its budget-focused Yuva series, the Yuva Smart. The company’s new entry-level smartphone follows the launch of the Yuva 2, which was launched in December 2024. In comparison, the Yuva Smart ships with a slightly larger display and inferior processor than the Yuva 2. More specially, the Yuva Smart boasts a 6.75-inch LCD display (up from 6.67-inch) with a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels and a refresh rate of 60 Hz. 

The smartphone features a Unisoc 9863A octa-core processor paired with 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage, which is further expandable up to 512 GB via MicroSD card. It runs Android 14 Go Edition out of the box, and there’s no word on software support from the brand. For optics, you get a single 13 MP primary camera at the back, which is coupled with an AI secondary sensor. On the front, it has a 5 MP shooter for capturing selfies and video chats. 

Furthermore, the device, which is around 8.8 mm (0.34 inches) thick and weighs around 193.3 grams (0.42 lbs), is housed with a 5000 mAh battery that supports 10 W wired charging. Other features of the Yuva Smart include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, up to 3 GB of RAM expansion support, and WiFi. Sadly, the device lacks a water- and dust-resistant rating. 

The Lava Yuva Smart smartphone will be available soon via Amazon in India with a starting price of Rs 6,000 (~$69.52). It will come in Glossy Blue, Glossy White, and Glossy Lavender color options. However, Lava hasn’t revealed availability details yet.
