Oppo is set to launch the thinnest foldable phone in the market, the Find N5. It's expected to measure around 4mm when unfolded, lower than the Honor Magic V3, which measures 4.35mm thick. While the initial launch of the device may be limited, it's rumored that it will launch as the OnePlus Open 2 in specific regions.
Now, Oppo didn't specify the launch date, but it has confirmed that the soon-to-be OnePlus Open 2 will make its full debut in February. It hasn't even fully unveiled the phone, but company officials have dropped quite a number of teasers. The new one comes from Billy Zhang, Oppo's President of Overseas Marketing.
In the teaser shared by Zhang, the Oppo Find N5 is compared to the iPad Pro M4, which is Apple's thinnest tablet yet. As shown in the image, the foldable phone is thinner. While it's not clear whether it's the 13-inch model or the 11-inch model (512 GB WiFi curr. $1,099.99 on Amazon) of the tablet on the image, the former measures 5.1mm. The company previously compared the foldable to an iPhone 16 Pro Max and multiple day-to-day use items like coins and cards.
Recently surfaced live images also show that the OnePlus Open 2 will have a cut-down camera bump on the back. Its less pronounced bump compared to its predecessor makes the foldable phone appear very slim even in the folded state. Other details shared by the recent leaks included a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a modified Snapdragon 8 Elite, and an alert slider.
