An Oppo executive has confirmed that the Find N5 and OnePlus Open 2 will soon launch with major upgrade compared to past models. The pair will match industry leaders in this regard, which surpass well-known foldables such as the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6.

There is no official release date for Oppo or OnePlus' next foldable yet. Instead, Oppo executives like Zhou Yibao continue to tease details about the Find N5 online. By extension, everything mentioned should apply to the OnePlus Open 2 too, given that the Find N3 and OnePlus Open are one and the same device.

This time, Yibao has showcased the Find N5 wirelessly charging, a feat that defeated its predecessor and the OnePlus Open (curr. $1,699.99 on Amazon). By contrast, the Find N3 and OnePlus Open offered 67 W wired charging for a full charge in under 45 minutes. A lack of wireless charging support arguably makes the pair odd ones out in the foldable market, which was not the case a few years ago.

According to Yibao, the Find N5 will be capable of wirelessly charging at 50 W, just like last year's Find X8 and Find X8 Pro. By extension, this would also allow the Find N5 and the OnePlus Open 2 to match the high-speed wireless charging speeds provided by the Magic V3 and Mate X6, which are industry leaders in this capacity. Incidentally, Oppo and OnePlus' next foldables will be IPX9 certified, full details of which we have provided separately.
