The Galaxy Z Fold remains the most expensive smartphone that Samsung sells even into its sixth-generation (curr. $1,249.99 on Amazon). While the company has been gradually making the device thinner with each release, the series has arguably entered a period of consolidation in many respects.
For instance, all Galaxy Z Fold models introduced since the Galaxy Z Fold4 have shipped with the same camera hardware, excluding the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition and Samsung W25 by extension. By contrast, even the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition retains the 4,400 mAh combined battery capacity that debuted on Samsung's 2021 foldable, as well as its 25 W wired and 15 W wireless charging speeds.
At least one of those speeds is rumoured to be changing for the series' true seventh-generation release, though. Allegedly, Samsung has settled on 45 W wired charging for the Galaxy Z Fold7, which it also offers on the Galaxy S25 Plus and Galaxy S25 Ultra. The battery capacity of Samsung's next foldable has not emerged yet, but a jump to 45 W should see it go from 0% to approximately 70% in 30 minutes with a combined 4,400 mAh capacity like its predecessor.
