Samsung's most unusual camera mode arrives on Galaxy Z Fold7

Samsung has released Expert RAW 5.0.08.2 in the Galaxy Store, introducing a new camera mode for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 ($1,719 on Amazon), Ocean Mode. This mode was originally developed for the Galaxy S24 Ultra, but was only available to researchers who used Ocean Mode to monitor coral reefs and create 3D models from thousands of photos.
With the launch of the Galaxy S26 Ultra, Ocean Mode was made available to end users for the first time, and in a beta version of One UI 8.5, users of the of the Galaxy S25 Ultra can also access Ocean Mode. The Galaxy Z Fold7 is therefore the third smartphone that can use Ocean Mode freely accessible.
Ocean Mode is designed to make it easier to take high-quality photos and videos underwater without the need for underwater photography skills, although the smartphone should be combined with an underwater housing when used in salt water. Ocean Mode offers an interval mode that automatically records a photo every two, five or ten seconds.
Samsung's software automatically corrects the white balance, colors, contrast and motion blur, including by selecting a faster shutter speed to compensate for the user's movement underwater. Further details on Ocean Mode can be found at on Samsung's website.
