Leak reveals Nokia Mission-Safe Phone 2 with modernized design, pogo pins and laser

While Nokia-branded smartphones intended for consumers, such as the Nokia 105 4G ($59 on Amazon), are developed and marketed by HMD Global, Nokia is offering the Mission-Safe Phone, a smartphone specifically for industrial customers that differs from conventional smartphones thanks to its robust body and some unusual features.
The enormously reliable leaker @smashx_60 has already published a first image and many details about the features of the Nokia Mission-Safe Phone 2. According to this, Nokia is modernizing the front in particular, as the display has much thinner bezels and the 50 megapixel selfie camera is located in a punch-hole instead of a notch on the new model. The screen grows from 6.32 inches to 6.58 inches and Nokia is reportedly installing a display with 1,080p+ resolution as well as a frame rate of 120 Hz.
The body of the Mission-Safe Phone 2 is IP68 and IP69K certified and therefore water-resistant, while MIL-STD-810H certification promises protection against particularly high and low temperatures and vibrations. Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protects the screen from scratches. The back accommodates pogo pins, which should enable the use of charging docks and accessories.
The pill-shaped camera module not only offers space for two 50 megapixel cameras, but also for a laser, which is to be used as a ToF sensor and as support for the autofocus. The smartphone is based on a powerful Qualcomm Dragonwing Q-6690, which is supported by 12 GB RAM and 512 GB flash memory. Nokia is said to guarantee three major Android updates and seven years of security patches. The Nokia Mission-Safe Phone 2 is expected to be officially unveiled at the Mobile World Congress 2027.
