Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold7, its most advanced foldable smartphone yet. Featuring a slimmer, lighter design, an upgraded 200MP camera, a high-performance chipset, and powerful Galaxy AI tools, the new device is designed to boost productivity and creativity on the go.
Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold7, the latest iteration of its flagship foldable smartphone. The new device brings significant enhancements over its predecessor, featuring a sleeker design, larger displays, upgraded cameras, and cutting-edge AI capabilities — all within the slimmest and lightest Fold model in the series.
With a thickness of just 4.2 mm when unfolded and 8.9 mm when folded, and weighing only 215 grams, the Galaxy Z Fold7 is noticeably slimmer than the previous Fold6 and lighter than the Galaxy S25 Ultra. However, Samsung narrowly missed the title of the world's thinnest foldable phone, which was recently claimed by Honor's Magic V5, measuring just 4.1 mm when unfolded.

Samsung has improved the durability of the Galaxy Z Fold7 with a new Armor FlexHinge, a tougher Armor Aluminum frame, and Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 on the cover display. The foldable screen now incorporates a titanium reinforcement layer and 50% thicker Ultra-Thin Glass (UTG), enhancing both strength and longevity.

The internal Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen has been expanded to an impressive 8 inches, offering QXGA+ resolution (2184 × 1968 pixels) and adaptive refresh rates from 1 to 120 Hz. This main screen is now 11% larger than its predecessor’s 7.6-inch panel. The external cover display now measures 6.5 inches, provides FHD+ resolution (2520 × 1080 pixels), and features a wider 21:9 aspect ratio, greatly enhancing usability and typing convenience when the device is folded. For comparison, the Fold6 featured a 6.3-inch external display.

Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the Galaxy Z Fold7’s upgraded camera system, featuring the first-ever 200 MP wide-angle camera in a Samsung foldable, which captures four times more detail and delivers 44% brighter photos compared to the previous model. The camera suite also includes a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 10 MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. The two 10 MP front cameras ensure high-quality selfies, with the outer camera offering a broader 100° field of view.
The updated ProVisual Engine ensures crisp, vivid photos with 10-bit HDR support and enhanced low-light performance. AI-driven features allow for object removal, background replacement, and portrait stylization directly on the device.

Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, specifically optimized for Samsung devices, the Galaxy Z Fold7 delivers substantial performance gains — 41% in NPU, 38% in CPU, and 26% in GPU compared to the Fold6. Users can choose from 12 or 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and storage options of 256 GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB. The 4,400 mAh battery supports up to 24 hours of video playback and provides fast wired, wireless, and reverse wireless charging.
The Galaxy Z Fold7 runs on Android 16 with Samsung’s latest One UI 8.0 interface, which introduces an array of new AI-powered features. Galaxy AI is now deeply integrated across the device, offering enhanced productivity and creativity on the large foldable screen. Notable features include Gemini Live, which lets users point their camera at objects for instant information, and Circle to Search, providing quick answers by circling anything on the display. Other AI tools support real-time language translation, advanced image and video editing, and more. These AI tools are optimized for the large display, enabling advanced multitasking capabilities such as dual-pane view, previewing AI results in multiple windows, and easily dragging and dropping generated text or images between apps.
