Samsung's first-ever FE-branded foldable smartphone is finally here. As its name suggests, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is a slightly more affordable version of the Galaxy Z Flip 7. Specs-wise, it takes the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and replaces it with some questionable hardware nerfs.
As foretold by numerous leaks and Geekbench listings, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE comes with Samsung's last-gen Exynos 2400 SoC. RAM is limited to 8 GB across the board, while storage options are limited to 128 GB and 256 GB. The lack of on-board memory will inhibit the device's ability to run on-device AI tasks, which are often known to be memory-hungry.
A 4,000 mAh battery powers the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, complete with 25-watt wired fast charging. Like the Flip 6, it comes with a 6.7-inch FHD+ (2,540 x 1,080) primary display and a 3.4-inch (748 x 720) cover display. The similarities don't end there: the 50 MP wide-angle and 12 MP ultra-wide-angle lenses are still here, as is the 10 MP selfie camera. Then again, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is not better off in that regard either.
Lastly, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE also misses out on Wi-Fi 7, with the foldable being restricted to Wi-Fi 6E. Other features include Bluetooth 5.3, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, IP48 water and dust resistance, and One UI 8.0 with Android 16.
You can now pre-order the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, starting at €999 for the 128 GB variant and €1,059 for the 256 GB variant, in two colourways: Black and White. General availability starts on July 25. The €200 price difference isn't much, but neither are the hardware differences. Many would argue that one would be better off buying a Galaxy Z Flip 6 solely for its Snapdragon SoC and 12 GB RAM.
