2025 might be the year of the mid-range clamshell foldable smartphone, as Samsung has released a series-first FE version of the Galaxy Z Flip7 to counter the Razr 2025 from Motorola.
They might both be outdone soon by the Magic V Flip 2, a device now firmly backed to push battery limits for its category with a new 5,500mAh spec: better even than actual flagships such as the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 and Razr Ultra 2025.
Honor might also equip it with 80W charging, which would also be a clamshell record and allow it to charge even faster than the OEM's 'main' foldable flagship, the Magic V5, via USB-C.
Then again, the V Flip 2 (code-named celine, according to the famous leaker Digital Chat Station) might temper these potentially ground-breaking specs with the sub-flagship Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 SoC.
That might indeed mean it might cost about as much as the $599.99, MediaTek Dimensity 7300X-powered Razr or the $899.99, Exynos 2400-based Z Flip7 FE.
Honor might confirm or deny that theory soon as the Magic V Flip 2 is tipped to become official by the end of August 2025.
