The Honor Magic V5 launched as the thinnest foldable flagship in China on July 2, 2025. As for the global launch, the company has already started teasing that the folding phone will be available worldwide soon, and now, it has confirmed the earliest launch date outside the Chinese market.
That is, the Magic V5 will officially be available in Malaysia on July 15, and Honor has also confirmed that the thinnest folding flagship will launch in Hong Kong on August 6. These recent announcements suggest that Malaysia will be the first to get the global version of the foldable phone.
As for the other regions, Honor has already set up official teaser pages on the UK and German websites. So, it's possible that a wider rollout is planned around the same time frame as the Malaysian launch.
Regarding the foldable phone itself, the Magic V5 is the thinnest folding phone to date, with the Ivory White version of the device measuring 4.1 mm thin in the opened state. To compare, the soon-to-be-unveiled Galaxy Z Fold 7 is rumored to measure 4.2 mm when it's unfolded.
Under the hood, the Magic V5 features the Snapdragon 8 Elite, which is paired with up to 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage. A 6,100 mAh battery powers the internals of the 1 TB variant, but the 256 GB and 512 GB storage options of the foldable flagship get a 5,820 mAh battery with support for 60 W fast charging (20K Ugreen 165 W Nexode power bank curr. $74.99 on Amazon).
Among the other highlights is a 50 MP primary camera on the back with a 64 MP periscope telephoto and a 50 MP ultrawide. You can learn more about the Honor Magic V5 from our detailed launch coverage.
