Someone is clearly in a hurry. No wonder, as Samsung is scheduled to present the Galaxy Z Fold7 on July 9, arguably the biggest competitor to the Honor Magic V5 this year. For the first time, the difference in case thickness is no longer measurable in millimeters, but rather in percentage points of a millimeter. So the South Koreans are back in the game.
The Honor foldable, which launched in mainland China on July 2, will soon also launch in Europe and the rest of Asia, as a look at various Honor country websites suggests. The successor to the Magic V3 is already being advertised in both Malaysia and the UK, and there is even a teaser online in Germany. The global Honor website already displays the four internationally planned color options: Dawn Gold, Reddish Brown, Ivory White and Black.
The ball is well and truly rolling in Hong Kong, where a launch date has already been set. On August 6, 2025, the thinnest foldable (in one color at least since the other color options are slightly thicker) to date will launch in the Chinese special administrative region. Of course, it will be a global version with eSIM and other features. We're already curious to see what battery size Honor will use in Europe this time to attract customers, especially since the 6,100 mAh battery is limited to the 1 TB version even in China. Due to regulations, it could be even less.
