Honor has just unveiled the Magic V5 in China, full coverage of which we have provided separately. As usual, the new foldable is already in the hands of certain YouTubers and media outlets. While many remain bound by Honor's review embargo, Fenibook has already given a not so PR-friendly appraisal of the Magic V5.
Officially, the Magic V5 comes in at 8.8 mm to steal the pursuit of thinness from the Oppo Find N5. Only true for one colour option, Honor discounts the device's camera housing from of all its marketing materials. Despite Vivo being mocked for the size of the camera housing on the X200 Ultra, Honor has somehow managed to match it despite using inferior sensors.
Setting design choices aside, the Magic V5 still suffers from a noticeable inner display crease. According to multiple sources, the display crease on this year's Honor Magic V can still be felt when using the screen too, even if it is less visible than the equivalent on the Magic V3 (curr. $1,550 on Amazon). Ultimately, Fenibook considers the Find N5 as the better phone when it comes to 'create control'. Please see our Magic V5 launch article for technical details about Honor's latest foldable flagship.
