Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy Watch8 series next week during its second Galaxy Unpacked event of the year. Based on current expectations, Samsung will also use the event to reveal not just the Galaxy Z Fold7 but also the Galaxy Z Flip7 and the Galaxy Z Flip FE. On top of that, the company has been tipped to launch a mild Galaxy Watch Ultra (curr. $399 on Amazon) refresh too.
In the meantime, a short video has emerged highlighting One UI 8 Watch ahead of its official release. Teased last month in a press release, One UI 8 Watch will start on the Galaxy Watch8 series and Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025) before making its way to older models from the Galaxy Watch5 onwards.
As far as we can tell, the video is running One UI 8 Beta, the program for which opened earlier this week. Embedded below, the video showcases Samsung's new UI design, which adopts pill-shaped elements en masse. One UI Watch 8 seemingly allows people to stack widgets, too. Unfortunately, the decision to adopt pill-shaped widgets leaves plenty of unused black space, setting aside the fact that they are a different shape from the Galaxy Watch's round displays.
