Garmin has quietly rolled out a fresh update for the Vivoactive 6 on its Beta Program. To recap, the company issued Software Version 10.14 almost two months ago after offering Beta 10.10 at the start of May. This time, Garmin has jumped from two full software revisions to v12.50 with a notable feature borrowed from its recent Forerunner 570 and Forerunner 970 releases (curr. $749 on Amazon).
Namely, Garmin has added Evening Report to the Vivoactive 6, which can be enabled by navigating through Watch Settings, Notifications & Alerts and Report Settings before tapping on Evening Report. Designed to operate like Garmin's existing Morning Report, Evening Report should provide an overview of how much sleep one needs before ahead of time complemented by future workout plans and upcoming events, among other details.
On top of that, Beta 12.50 introduces the Garmin Calculator app and the Rucking activity. Moreover, Garmin notes that the new beta also enables custom focus modes for the first time. Unfortunately, it remains to be seen at this stage when the company will be bringing these changes to Vivoactive 6 smartwatches running stable software. The full Beta 12.50 changelog is as follows:
- Adds an evening report to summarize your day before your sleep time.
- Adds the calculator app.
- Supports creating custom focus modes.
- Adds support for the Rucking activity.
- Garmin Connect Mobile translations updated to v2.70
