The Garmin Forerunner 945 LTE smartwatch has received a new update, beta version 17.40. This is the first update in the 17.xx testing cycle. It arrives around ten months after stable software version 17.30, which brought a bug fix for a rebooting issue.
The beta version 17.40 update is said to improve the inReach pairing for the Forerunner 945 LTE smartwatch. This feature allows users to connect the wearable to the brand’s satellite communicator devices. This release also brings three bug fixes to this watch. The first is said to prevent crashes which could occur when starting LTE. The second resolves a problem linked to Real Time Settings for Live Event Sharing. Finally, there is a fix for a bug related to the Spectator Messaging tool.
In a post in the Garmin Forum, a team member stated that the beta version 17.40 update should have reached all users of the Forerunner 945 LTE smartwatch (curr. $339.99 at Amazon). If you wish to install this update, go to the Main menu > Settings > System > Software Update > Check For Updates. At the time of writing, users have not reported any new bugs in this latest release.
