Xiaomi has launched the Mix Flip 2 in China, which it continues to stylise as the MIX Flip 2. In short, the company's latest clamshell is only the second of its kind to utilise Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset after the Razr 60 Ultra (curr. $1,299.99 on Amazon). The Mix Flip 2 trades blows with the Razr 60 Ultra in other areas, too.
For instance, the Mix Flip 2 mirrors the Razr 60 Ultra with a 199 g official weight and a pair of 50 MP cameras tuned by Leica. With that being said, Xiaomi has opted for a 32 MP internal camera rather than another 50 MP sensor, as Motorola has with the Razr 60 Ultra. The Mix Flip 2 edges the Razr 60 Ultra when it comes to its cover display, though.
According to Xiaomi, the AMOLED panel measures 4.01 inches diagonally with a 1,392 x 1,208-pixel native resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. On top of that, the compact display offers up to 3,200 nits peak brightness, which Xiaomi matches across the Mix Flip 2's 6.86-inch internal display. Incidentally, the latter also delivers a 120 Hz refresh rate with a 2,912 x 1,224-pixel native resolution.
Moreover, the Mix Flip 2 boasts a 5,150 mAh combined battery capacity, which Xiaomi has stuffed within a 166.89 x 73.8 x 7.57 mm housing. Also, the foldable offers 67 W wired and 50 W wireless charging, unlike the Razr 60 Ultra. Unfortunately, Xiaomi has followed Motorola by capping the device's USB Type-C port at merely USB 2.0 speeds.
The Mix Flip 2 starts at CNY 5,999 (~$837) in China with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Alternatively, Xiaomi also offers 12 GB RAM/512 GB storage and 16 GB RAM/1 TB storage options for CNY 6,499 (~$906) and CNY 7,299 (~$1,018), respectively. Although Xiaomi has not revealed international launch plans yet, it does sell the existing Mix Flip globally.
