There is no escaping the fact that Vivo has taken aim at Samsung with the release of the X200 FE' Fan Edition'. While Samsung's recent efforts have been criticised in recent years for offering little to smartphone fans, the Vivo X200 FE delivers plenty of high-end hardware within a compact housing that also weighs less than rivals like the Google Pixel 9.

Vivo is now offering the X200 FE internationally after presenting the device in Taiwan at the start of the week. While FE means 'Full Experience' rather than Fan Edition à la Samsung, the X200 FE is essentially the same smartphone that Vivo presented in China as the S30 Pro Mini at the end of last month. Unfortunately, Vivo has downgraded the X200 FE in a key area when purchasing it in Europe.

Dealing with similarities first, the X200 FE has arrived internationally with a MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ chipset, up to 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. Equipped with a 6.31-inch LTPO AMOLED display that resolves at 2,640 x 1,216 pixels and 120 Hz, the X200 FE also measures a mere 150.83 x 71.76 x 7.9 mm and weighs 186 g. In other words, the X200 FE is thinner, shorter, narrower and lighter than other compact flagships like the Google Pixel 9 (curr. $489.99 - refurbished on Amazon).

Moreover, Vivo includes 50 MP primary, 50 MP telephoto, 50 MP front-facing and 8 MP ultra-wide-angle cameras. Please note that only the X200 FE's primary and telephoto cameras are Zeiss-tuned. Also, the X200 FE ships with a 5,300 mAh battery in Europe rather than the 6,500 mAh equivalent offered elsewhere. 90 W wired charging remains unchanged, though.

The Vivo X200 FE starts at €799 (~$936) with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage in Black Luxe, Blue Breeze, Pink Vibe and Yellow Glow colour options. At the time of writing, Vivo guarantees five years of Android security updates but four years of Android OS updates. Please see Vivo's website for more details.
