The Mate X7 is tipped to succeed a premium device with a 7.93-inch 120Hz OLED main display (and a 6.45-inch secondary screen) later in 2025. Its dimensions notwithstanding, the X6 is listed on Amazon in Europe as a 5,110mAh device: a battery capacity that would not have come across as exactly impressive in late 2024.
Its successor might experience an improvement in these terms, albeit only to about 5,500mAh, as per the latest leaks. Its non-foldable counterparts such as the Mate 80 Pro and RS might do much better by comparison, with upgrades to 6,000mAh if not more.
The Mate X7 might be able to compensate nonetheless with Huawei's latest SuperCharge technology, which is thought to maximize power-efficiency through measures such as implementing usage "shutdowns" at voltages of 2.8V or less, in the manner of other custom smartphone power systems such as Oppo's SuperVOOC.
The supposedly upcoming Huawei flagship might also integrate the latest "high-silicon" battery technology - as might the alleged Mate 80 series.
It must be said that a relatively reduced battery capacity might help the Mate X7 compete in the cut-throat race to unleash the lightest and thinnest foldable smartphone that is still unfolding this year in any case.
