Huawei's plans for the future of its premium smartphone line-up include a second-gen Pura X, the inaugural example of the OEM's most innovative 'widescreen foldable' (or possibly '16:10 foldable') form factor, according to the latest leak on the subject.
It will be part of the OEM's 2026 product cycle, following the release of more predictable foldable devices such as a direct successor to the Mate X6, which would be Huawei's counterpart to the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7.
The "X7" is thought to be a substantial upgrade that might even have a Pro sibling in 2025. By contrast, while there will apparently be a second generation of the Mate XT, it will only have iterative improvements over the original pioneering tri-folding device.
Then again, the "XT 2" might be succeeded by the same technology in a new 'XL' size - as might the Pura X itself. The resulting "foldable Pad" might be intended to do battle against an iPad with a similarly cutting-edge design in the near future.
