The Vivo X Fold5 is still a few days away from being officially unveiled. In the meantime, unboxing videos have been posted online amid new official teaser videos. Unfortunately, the X Fold5 will trail other recent foldables like the Oppo Find N5 when it comes to raw performance.

Vivo is not due to officially unveil its next foldable until next week. Nonetheless, the company and its executives continue to tease details about the device in advance. On top of that, various sources have leaked information that Vivo has not officially confirmed yet.

For example, it appears that the X Fold5 has now been benchmarked on Geekbench under the model number V2436A. As previous rumours suggested, Vivo is using the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for another generation, which it will complement with 16 GB of RAM. Consequently, the X Fold5 challenges the Galaxy Z Fold6 (curr. $1,049 - refurbished on Amazon) in terms of performance rather than the Oppo Find N5.

Specifically, the X Fold5 trails the Find N5 by over 20% in single-core performance and around 16% in multi-core performance. A reason for this decision could be that even the 7-core version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite exhibits significant thermal throttling in a thin housing such as the Find N5's. Still, choosing the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will see the X Fold5 lag behind the performance that current-generation candybar flagships can deliver.

Vivo has shared a few new promotional videos ahead of its June 25 launch event, too. While many of the features shown in the video were already known, Vivo has highlighted how its new Atomic Workbench multitasking functions. In short, Atomic Workbench resembles Apple's Stage Manager software. Incidentally, a few independent unboxing videos have also now appeared online. Please see the videos below for more details.
