Huawei introduced successors to the Pura 70 Ultra and Pro+ in the absence of those for their 70 Pro and 70 siblings earlier in 2025. The latter will be introduced seemingly all by itself very soon, though.
The Pura 80 has been revealed to have a much smaller, more equal-sided version of the series' triangular camera hump, which hints at the absence of an Ultra-class 1-inch sensor right off the bat.
It is thought to have a number of different colorways, 1 of which has been revealed to be a copper gold that Apple might also try to go for in its iPhone 17 Pro series.
The Pura 80 also looks a lot like an iPhone from the front, although its screen ostensibly has just 1 hole-punch selfie camera.
It is clearly already pitched at students rather than ambitious mobile photographers, with a new "smart schedule" feature for what might be its HarmonyOS 5.1-based UI as a hero feature.
According to the notorious leaker Digital Chat Station, it will be powered by a Kirin 9010S SoC, which reads like a refresh of the existing 9010 in the 70 Ultra.
There is allegedly more to the newcomer than that, though, as it is rumored to have speed upgrades across the whole of its CPU, with 2 cores clocked at 2.5GHz, another 6 at 2.05GHz and a final 4 at 1.50GHz.
The Pura 80 will launch tomorrow (July 23, 2025), although Huawei might not release it until the end of the month, according to Digital Chat Station.
The tipster hints that a 12GB RAM/256GB SKU of the smartphone might be priced much like its 70 counterpart, which went for 5,499 yuan (~$767) on its launch.
