The iPhone 17 series might comprise some of the most innovative Apple handsets for several generations in 2025 - not the least the brand's first ever ultra-slim model. Now, they are backed to sustain at least as much growth on the market as their predecessors - if not more.

Apple is thought to do something approaching an actual risk with the design of the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max - even if it mostly involves taking the chance of being relentlessly compared to the Google Pixel 10 series on their launch.

Then again, their series is also thought to include the 17 Air, the first iPhone specifically optimized for Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge-killing slimness with a cutting-edge silicon-carbon battery.

The supposedly upcoming iPhones, along with their vanilla 17 sibling, are thought to hand Apple a year-on-year growth on the smartphone market of 15% - if not more at some crucial junctures, which might include the typically all-important last quarter of the year in 2025.

Then again, the 17 Air has also reportedly been predicted not to sell particularly well by Apple itself, while its Pro siblings might fall behind Android flagships in the battery upgrade department.

Nevertheless, the 17 Pro and Pro Max might introduce substantial performance gains with the new A19 Pro platform, while the 17 Air might seek to be a crowd-pleaser by reviving one of Apple's most popular colorways on its launch.
