Majin Bu has shed new light on Apple's plans for this summer's iPhone 17 series. To recap, Sonny Dickson suggested yesterday that Apple intended to offer the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max in a choice of five colours. Of these, black, grey and silver would be more or less returning from the existing iPhone 16 Pro and its larger sibling (curr. $1,014.99 - renewed on Amazon).
By contrast, dark blue and orange options were also mentioned by the same leaker. Prior to that, there were indications that a return of Sky Blue could also be in order, which was last seen on the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. While Sonny Dickson implied that these earlier reports were wide of the mark, Majin Bu believes that Sky Blue was within Apple's Pro iPhone plans at some stage.
Writing on their website, Majin Bu asserts that Apple has scrapped Sky Blue as a colour option for both the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. However, the leaker claims to have confirmation that this so-called vibrant colour option will make its way to the iPhone 17 Air instead. Currently, Apple is expected to introduce its first Air-branded iPhone alongside the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max during the week starting September 8. For this generation at least, the Air is anticipated to usurp Apple's existing Plus variant.
