Huawei has added to its line of foldable clamshell smartphones today (June 23, 2025) - although the device in question is not a new Nova Flip as suspected earlier.
Instead, the smartphone has been introduced as the new Premium Edition of the Pocket 2, a handset originally touted to be more interesting than the competing Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 thanks to features such as a round secondary display in addition to a main 120Hz 6.94-inch OLED display that can fold in half horizontally.
Despite its name, Huawei has confirmed that the new variant will start at 5,499 yuan (~$766) with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, whereas the OEM originally asked 7,499 yuan for a Pocket 2 of the same configuration (and the Z Flip6 still starts at just over $1,000 on Amazon).
For that, the Premium Edition comes in the same choice of 4 colorways (Tahitian Grey, Rococo White, Yahei Black or Taro Purple), yet is thought to come with an upgrade to the Kirin 9020A processor.
Huawei has chosen to leave the Pocket 2 Premium Edition's exact specs a mystery until its release on June 26.
