Tecno has introduced its latest entry-level smartphone, the Spark Go 2, in the Indian market. Tecno’s new affordable smartphone comes as a direct successor to the Spark Go 1 and brings a noticeable upgrade in terms of design. However, specs-wise, the smartphone retains most of the features from its last-generation model.
For reference, the Tecno Spark Go 2 is powered by a Unisoc T7250 (aka T615) processor, a similar chipset found on the last-generation model. It packs 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage, which is further expandable via microSD card. While the phone looks almost similar from the front, the back has seen a major change. The rear camera setup now comes with a pill-shaped module, which resembles the iPhone 16's (curr. at $684.95 on Amazon) camera module.
As for the rear camera setup, it remains the same as the predecessor, featuring a single 13 MP primary camera. Upfront, it has an 8 MP shooter for selfies and video chats. As far as the display size is concerned, it sports a 6.67-inch HD+ IPS LCD panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate. Furthermore, the device does get an improved IP64 water and splash resistance compared to IP54 on the Go 1.
Another new addition is AI features, including the Ella AI assistant, which supports most of the Indian regional languages. A 5,000 mAh battery powers the internals and supports 15 W wired charging. Other features include stereo speakers with DTS tuning, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, an IR blaster, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. It runs Android 15-based HiOS 15 out of the box, and there are no details on software support.
Available in ink black, titanium grey, veil white, and turquoise green colorways, the Tecno Spark Go 2 is priced at INR 6,999 ($81) for the 4 GB + 64 GB variant. The device will be available starting from July 1 via Tecno’s official website, Flipkart, and other authorized retailers.
