Buy or Bin? | Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7: The foldable giant finally awakens
Source: Soycincau English
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is Samsung’s strongest clamshell foldable yet. It’s finally competitive, but still has room to grow. If you love taking selfies, appreciate polished software, and want the prestige of the Samsung name, this phone’s a winner. But if your top priorities are maximum features, battery life, charging speeds, or the best value for money, you might want to consider what rivals like Xiaomi are offering.

I spent a week with the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7, and it's an even bigger leap than expected
Source: Zdnet.com English
I have genuinely enjoyed my experience with the Samsung Galaxy Flip 7. Overall, Samsung upgraded the Z Flip 7's specs in almost every way, addressing most of the users' complaints about the predecessor and making it a strong competitor in the flip phone market. You can order yours now for a starting price of $1,099 (with a $50 discount happening now), and several promotions and offers are already active. The colors include Coralred, Jetblack, Blue Shadow, and the online-exclusive Mint, and storage sizes are 256GB to 512GB. If you are a power user who could benefit from a better camera system and get more out of your cover screen with a better refresh rate, peak brightness, and more app interoperability, you may want to consider the Motorola Razr Ultra. However, it starts at a higher premium of $1,300. For more on how they compare, read ZDNET's take here.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 review
Source: Sam Mobile English
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is hands down the most polished and complete Flip Samsung has made so far. The bigger cover screen makes a huge difference in everyday use, in addition to making the stylish Galaxy Z Flip design look even better. Battery life is finally like a regular phone, making this the first Flip you can rely on all day long. Samsung's decision to switch to an Exynos chip worked out better than expected, and we also finally get DeX support on the Flip series. Sure, it isn't perfect, especially if you're looking for a camera setup that matches those of candybar flagships like the Galaxy S25. But Samsung has seriously cut down on the compromises this year, and if the higher price tag doesn’t bother you, the Flip 7 is an incredibly easy phone to recommend.

80% Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 review: flipping off the competition
Source: T3 English
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 represents a seismic shift in Samsung's hardware development for its flip phone flagship. That all-encompassing Flex Window exterior display looks an absolute dream, although its app-limited use means it isn't always all that practical. Whether you find the folding internal panel's reflective coating bothersome may also determine whether this is the phone for you. As flip phones go, however, Samsung's re-engineering of every aspect of this handset is exactly what was needed to assert its dominance in this market.

90% Weeks testing the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 convinced me flip phones are the best phones - and I won't be going back to flat

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 gets so much right, it makes me wonder why more people don’t carry a flip phone. It has an amazing screen inside, and a useful cover display that’s truly edge-to-edge. I wish it had a better processor, and using Samsung’s software can be a real drag, but this is still an excellent flip with capabilities competitors can’t match, like Samsung’s DeX.

88% Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 review

We didn't go in expecting dramatic changes and we didn't get those with the Galaxy Z Flip7. Perhaps the most notable development is in the physical appearance of the clamshell, and the slim body coupled with the new large cover screen make it that extra bit more of a looker than previous attempts. The fact that we've also gotten higher battery capacity and a meaningful improvement in endurance is also not to be overlooked. Some of the Z Flip7's pros are as true now as they were true of the previous generation. One UI is about as feature-packed as there is and remains a key Galaxy selling point in every comparison despite, in this particular case, Samsung's continued refusal to unlock the full potential of the cover screen. The camera system may not exactly be top-cameraphone-grade, but it's pretty great for a clamshell.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 review – Big, meaningful upgrades
Source: NLT English
The question becomes – should you buy the Z Flip7? It’s an easy answer – yes. If you’re a fan of flip phones but held off last year – then this is the best time to get it. There are lots of upgrades across the board and this new Z Flip7 is just amazing through and through. Slightly wider form factor with a 21:9 aspect ratio for the unfolded display, upgraded cover display with 120Hz refresh rate, tiny bezels, and flows around the camera cutout, and great battery life. Let’s not forget that One UI is an amazing skin that brings forth many more useful features. The gaming performance is a bit weird now due to aggressive shader caching, and there are zero optimizations from any game developers at the time of this recording. But then again, if you’re a mobile gamer, flip phones are not for you anyway.

70% Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 Review: The Flip in its prime
Source: Phone Arena English
While the Flip 7 is not quite the generational leap as the Fold 7, it's still a very big improvement. The larger cover screen feels downright luxurious compared to the teeny one used on the previous models. Coupled with a slightly bigger battery and a slimmer design, the Flip 7 is a looker. Summarizing the downsides, there are two things that stand out. One is how Samsung treats the cover screen as some sort of a widget center rather than allowing users to fully customize it, and the other is the Exynos 2500 chipset, which is not flagship-grade. But those are not dealbreakers and with its long software support and many other little improvements, the Flip 7 regains the crown as the go-to Flip phone for buyers.

Samsung will soon officially open the sales of Galaxy Z Flip7 and they’ll be available at RM4,999 (12+256GB, this unit) or RM5,599 (12+512GB) – if you’re looking to upgrade from a Galaxy Z Flip6, I suggest take a closer look at specs and see the upgrade is worth the money (since some things like cameras remained identical); for owners of older models or different smartphones entirely, this is a viable option to go for if you don’t mind some of its trade-offs.

80% I love the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7’s bigger cover screen, but these two things hold it back
Source: Stuff TV English
It’s comfortably Samsung’s best looking clamshell phone yet, and the extra productivity features mean the Galaxy Z Flip 7 isn’t solely focused on fun. The larger cover screen makes a huge difference to usability (even if you still must jump through hoops for wider app support) and the cameras are still competitive on image quality. Battery life is only a small step up from last year, though, and performance isn’t much to shout about. If you care about gaming or want to last as long as possible away from the mains, the Motorola Razr 60 Ultra should be your go-to flip phone. That said, the streamlined software and more appealing contract pricing will surely give the Flip 7 more mainstream appeal.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 preview: our first impressions
Source: Hardware Zone English
As mentioned, we’ll have a fuller picture of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7’s viability after we publish its full review, which will include the necessary tests, real-world use, benchmarks, and comparisons. That said, we really like Samsung’s take of its Galaxy Z Flip7. Our first impression was that Samsung understands what its target market is looking for and has gone ahead with those improvements, even if it’s not par for the course for smartphone advancements in general. Flip phones are quite counterintuitive, in that they encourage doing menial things on a smaller display. However, their users know that there is some satisfaction in only unfolding the phone when needed, and clapping it shut when done. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 starts at S$1,648 (256GB) and comes in Blue Shadow, Coralred, Jetblack, with a Samsung online-exclusive Mint colourway. Pre-orders are open with official retail due on 1 August 2025. Go to our pricing and promos article if you’re trying to secure one now.

90% Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 Review: The new king of flip foldables
Source: Tom's Guide English
Despite coming up short in the last few years, Samsung is back on top among foldable phones with the incredibly powerful Galaxy Z Flip 7. From a larger Flex Window display, to the effectiveness of its multimodal AI with Gemini Live and the power of a computer in your pocket with Samsung DeX, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is finally the flip phone I’ve been waiting for.

80% Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 review: Brilliant flip phone fun, but with a catch
Source: Android Police English
I’ve really enjoyed the Galaxy Z Flip 7. The very action of opening and closing the phone is always a joy, despite the snappy action, and the phone feels futuristic and unusual. I love how convenient it is, the large inner screen is great for video, and the multi-tasking features make it useful. The camera is fun, especially if you take a lot of selfies or group photos, and the cover screen’s updated tech makes it look excellent. What the Galaxy Z Flip 7 isn’t is a hardcore gaming machine or a battery life monster. If those aspects are important to you, this will not meet your mobile needs. Neither are especially important to me, and I’ve been able to enjoy the wonderful convenience of the folding design with few concerns, provided I remember to charge it every night. I’d consider an upgrade if I owned a Galaxy Z Flip 5, but not if I owned a Galaxy Z Flip 6.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7: First ImpressionsDeepL /
Source: NDTV Gadgets English
The second Unpacked event of the year is here, bringing us the all-new Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. However, this year, Samsung has gone one step ahead to introduce a third foldable device in its portfolio - the Galaxy Flip 7 FE. The new model will serve as the entry point to the Galaxy foldable portfolio. Well, I didn't get any hands-on time with the FE, but it looks a lot like last year's Flip 6. We'll have more to say about that when we spend more time with the new FE model. One big news from Samsung dropped is that both the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 are the first devices globally to launch with Android 16 out of the box. Of course, there's One UI 8 running on the top. Now, let's dive into the devices with the biggest upgrades - Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 vs Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE: These are the differences
Source: Phone Arena English
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is Samsung’s clearest attempt yet to bring foldables to a wider audience, delivering the signature Flip experience at a more approachable $899 price point. You still get the same main and ultrawide cameras, a high-quality folding display, full Galaxy AI support, and that iconic compact design. But for $200 more, the regular Z Flip 7 offers meaningful upgrades: a faster processor, extra RAM, Samsung DeX support, a larger and more capable cover screen, and likely better battery life. For first-time foldable users, the Z Flip 7 FE is an appealing gateway. That said, the Motorola Razr (2025) undercuts it at $699 while delivering a similarly solid clamshell experience — and arguably a more flexible cover screen. Still, if you want to stay in Samsung’s ecosystem, the Z Flip 7 FE brings much of what makes the full Flip great, at a lower price. Unless you really need the larger cover display or power-user extras, the FE model could be the smarter buy.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 Hands-on: Cautiously optimistic
Source: Mobile Syrup English
I expect something similar this time, but the Exynos chipset’s image processor might change things. I look forward to testing out this device’s cameras, but I’m hoping it’s the same as last year or better, and hopefully not worse. I really liked this year’s Razr Ultra, but Motorola increased the price of its handset to $1,899, which is a little much. Compared to $1,462, Samsung’s handset seems like a better option. Of course, the Razr Ultra has a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, a 4,700mAh battery, a 50-megapixel triple camera setup, 16GB of RAM and more, which makes it more ‘Ultra’ than the Z Flip 7. It’s impressive that Samsung is not raising the price of the Z Flip 7 in Canada, but also providing a better experience. While the phone itself isn’t all that exciting, especially compared to the Razr Ultra, the Z Flip 7 might be foldable if you want a solid experience but don’t want to pay $1,900. Of course, I’ll need to put this through its paces before making any concrete judgments.

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is Samsung’s best looking clamshell yet, and might be a new productivity king too
Source: Stuff TV English
While I think traditional smartphones with square sides generally look great, those aesthetics and ergonomics haven’t always translated well to clamshell foldables. Until I held the Galaxy Z Flip 7, I couldn’t figure out why. With Samsung’s new compact Flip, however, I realised it was the sheer thickness that was holding these phones back.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 hands-on review: Finally taking a leaf out of Motorola’s book
Source: Expert Reviews English
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 will launch alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE on 25 July, with preorders open now. The 256GB model is £1,049 and the 512GB version is £1,149. Between the 9th and 24th of July, however, you can get the 512GB model for the same price as the 256GB, essentially getting double the storage for no extra cost. And should you buy the Z Flip 7? Well, I’ll be more sure after the full reviews but, based on this initial hands-on time, I’m more impressed than I expected to be. The new cover display is doing a lot of heavy lifting there, but I also like the sound of some of the software features. And, of course, the biggest perk of choosing the Z Flip 7 is the extensive software support.

First Impressions: Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 Review
Source: Trusted Reviews English
Though not quite as revolutionary an upgrade as the Z Fold 7, I think the Galaxy Z Flip 7 has enough to shout about. The larger cover screen, in particular, should make a huge difference to the Flip experience, allowing it to better compete with alternatives from Motorola and Xiaomi while adding a distinctly premium look to the foldable, which, dare I say, was missing before. The lack of any camera hardware changes is a little disappointing to see, but the added camera features – from new filters to a new auto shooting mode – arguably cater more to the Flip user’s needs than a high-res zoom lens. This is a phone designed for selfie takers, after all, and I wager that the 50MP main camera will do just as good a job as ever at that. Some might bemoan the use of the Exynos chipset, but I’d argue that flip-style foldables can rarely handle the thermals that come with top-end performance anyway, so for a less power-hungry user, it’s more than enough.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 hands-on: Slim folding
Source: Canbuyornot English
Having created the current foldables market, Samsung has spent the last few iterations playing catchup as Chinese manufacturers started to out-design the Korean giant with slimmer models and even a tri-folding screen. But with the introduction of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, Samsung is finally ready to show who's the king. The new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is a stunner. At 8.9mm thick, it's on par with the the Oppo Find N5, and just slightly thicker than the just-announced Honor Magic V5 (8.88mm thick). Honestly, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is approaching the limits of how thin it can be, due to how phones have to accommodate the USB-C port. Of course, they can always skip the port entirely, and just go with wireless charging, but that's an altogether different story for another time.

The difference between the Z Flip6 and Z Flip7 FE is the chipset - the new phone swaps the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for an Exynos 2400, which is more of a side-grade rather than an upgrade, on paper at least.

We saw Samsung’s new foldable phones at Unpacked, and we’re seriously impressed
Source: CNN underscored English
The thinner bezels on the Z Flip 7 are a great touch to make it look more like a premium phone, but the Z Fold 7’s slimmer design is the big news here. Making the pricey Z Fold 7 look and feel more worthy of its premium price is great, especially when you open it up to see that practically squarish 8-inch display. Combine both those devices with the more-affordable Z Flip 7 FE and the Galaxy Watch 8 models, and it’s not hard to see Samsung’s July Unpacked as a winning event this year. We look forward to seeing how well these devices hold up to their strong first impression during our full reviews, so stay tuned.

An Exciting Hands-On: Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7, Flip7, Flip7 FE & Watch8 Debut
Source: Hot Hardware English
When it comes to folding phones, Samsung is definitely back. The Galaxy Z Fold7 finally stands up to the Chinese competition in terms of design, and the Galaxy Z Flip6 and Z Flip6 FE are going after Motorola’s Razr lineup. With these new folding phones, Samsung’s broad ecosystem and feature-rich software are no longer held back by so-so hardware. Add Samsung’s powerful marketing and sales channels to the mix, and it’s a recipe for success. The Watch8 and Watch8 Classic are exactly what you’d expect from Samsung: a solid update to existing products. Gemini is an exciting new feature, and the return of the rotating watch bezel is a welcome touch. The Galaxy Z Fold7, Z Flip7, Watch 8, and Watch 8 Classic are available for pre-order today (July 9) from Samsung, the carriers, and retailers like Amazon and Best Buy, with open sales beginning on July 25. Availability for the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE is still TBD. Stay tuned for more coverage about these devices in the coming weeks, including our Galaxy Z Fold7 review.
