The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 was little more than a slight remake of its predecessor, a disappointing development in South Korea given the increasingly thinner and improved models coming from Chinese companies such as Vivo, Oppo, Honor and others. Samsung appears to have acknowledged the signs of the times in 2025 and taken up the fight, as Samsung's first official Galaxy Z Fold7 teaser recently indicated.
The above photo stems from the official teaser and reveals just how thin the next flagship foldable will be, even if the 'Galaxy Z Fold7 Ultra' designation is unlikely to become reality. Ultra features are definitely on the agenda, as Chinese leaker Ice Universe emphasized in his recent tweet. Accordingly, the new foldable device will debut several new technologies that no other company offers.
Galaxy Unpacked event possibly not until mid-July 2025
Another leaker recently hinted at what this might be. In addition to the already leaked case dimensions, which suggest a chassis just 3.9 to 4.5 mm thin, there will be a better camera, a larger display, longer battery life and probably also a slightly higher price tag, at least according to this leaker. Samsung may also step up its game in terms of durability, as the Vivo X Fold 5 is a particularly robust opponent in this respect.
However, Samsung fans may have to wait a little longer this year for the Galaxy Z Fold7, Galaxy Z Flip7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 FE than last year. Instead of a Galaxy Unpacked event at the beginning of July like last year, the launch date will probably not take place until mid-July, although this is yet to be confirmed.
