HMD Global has released the Fusion X1 in Europe, almost a year after it first leaked online as the HMD Fusion. As those initial leaks suggested, HMD has sought to distinguish the Fusion X1 from its peers by adopting a design that supports modular add-on accessories.
HMD has now confirmed full device specifications too, which it refrained from fully revealing in March during MWC 2025. Ultimately, the Fusion X1 shares almost all its hardware with the existing Fusion (curr. $299.99 on Amazon). Thus, the Fusion X1 combines a 720p, 90 Hz and 6.56-inch IPS display with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, a 108 MP camera and a 5,000 mAh battery.
Principally, the Fusion X1 adds superior parental control features compared to the standard Fusion X1. As we discussed in March, HMD has partnered with Xplora to provide a subscription service that can control all aspects of a child's smartphone usage, like how long they can spend on a given app or restrict messaging to certain trusted contacts.
Currently, the HMD Fusion X1 is available for £229 in the UK with 6 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage. Meanwhile, the handset has reached the Eurozone for €279 (~$318). There is no word yet on North American availability yet, though.
