Vivo has launched a new affordable smartphone with a flagship chipset in its T4 series of smartphones. The new Vivo T4 Ultra comes with impressive features and a competitive price tag. Let’s start with the cameras. Vivo packs a triple rear camera into the T4 Ultra, consisting of a 50 MP OIS-enabled Sony IMX921 primary camera, a 50 MP Sony IMX882 periscope lens with 3x magnification, and an 8 MP ultra-wide shooter.
The periscope lens also has a 10x telephoto macro mode and OIS+EIS stabilization for video. Upfront, there’s a 32 MP camera for selfies and video chats. Under the hood, the smartphone features MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300+ chipset, the same processor inside the Xiaomi 14T Pro (curr. at $626 on Amazon). It ships with 8/12 GB of RAM and 256/512 GB of internal storage with no room for storage expansion.
As far as the display size is concerned, the T4 Ultra has a 6.67-inch quad-curved AMOLED display with a 2800 x 1260 resolution, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 1,600 nits. The 5G-enabled smartphone boasts a massive 7,300 mAh battery that supports 90 W wired charging. Unfortunately, there’s no wireless charging support here. Despite having a large battery, it measures just 7.4 mm (0.29 inch) in thickness and weighs around 192 grams (0.42 lbs).
The device runs Android 15-based Funtouch OS 15 out of the box and Vivo promises two major OS upgrades and three years of security updates. The rest of the highlights include an in-display optical fingerprint sensor, a vapor chamber, IP64 water and dust resistance, an aura light, and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity.
The Vivo T4 Ultra 5G starts at INR 38,000 (~$445) for the base 8 GB + 256 GB model, while the top-end 12 GB + 512 GB variant costs INR 42,000 (~$490). It comes in phoenix gold and meteor grey colorways. The device is now available for pre-order, while open sales start on June 18 via Vivo’s official website and other authorized retailers.
