Smartphones with a 6.3-inch display are already considered compact by today’s standards. For instance, the Apple iPhone 16, with its 6.1-inch display, is amongst the smallest smartphones currently available. Defying this trend, the ultra-compact Bluefox NX1 features a tiny 4-inch screen that is similar in size to the iPhone 5’s panel.
Measuring just 10 x 4.9 x 1.2 cm (3.9 x 1.9 x 0.5 in), the NX1 is even smaller than the iPhone 5 thanks to its thinner bezels. Its thicker body allows Bluefox to include a 3,000 mAh battery, which should provide reasonable battery life given the tiny display and modest hardware. The IPS panel offers a resolution of 1,168 x 540, a peak brightness of 500 nits, and a refresh rate of 60 Hz. Aside from the display, the company had to make a few compromises to keep prices low.
The Bluefox NX1 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G81, a chipset that debuted back in 2019. It comes with up to 8 GB of memory and 128 GB of storage, expandable using a microSD card. Surrounding the 5 MP front-facing camera is a Dynamic Island-style feature capable of showing charge status and incoming calls. On the back, the phone is equipped with a 21 MP main shooter featuring a Sony IMX230 sensor. Whilst the NX1 ships with Android 15, Bluefox has yet to disclose details related to update support.
