Vivo India has confirmed that the affordable T4 series of Android smartphones is getting a new flagship soon. The Ultra is backed to land with "flagship-grade zoom" thanks to an extra lens set into its familiar-looking camera hump. The device will be released through an online retail partnership "soon".

The leaker Yogesh Brar has recently made some predictions to the effect that the T4 Ultra could be the 1.5K display, Dimensity 9300+-powered Vivo S20 Pro re-branded for the Indian market - and it certainly looks that way in a fresh new teaser.

The OEM backs the somewhat V50-like handset to grab "clear clicks" with its "ultra-powerful zoom" lens, which, should its rumors prove true, be 50MP in resolution, have OIS with PDAF and be capable of 3X optical zoom.

The S20 Pro shares a lot of these periscope zoom specs with the X200 Pro, although Vivo's new teaser seems to confirm that it will not have the same premium Zeiss branding as that flagship (although it will have AI).

Vivo has yet to set a date for its T4 Ultra launch event, although it has revealed that it will be available through Flipkart as well as its own webstore and in certain brick-and-mortar stores.

In the meantime, the T4 (which is in itself a re-brand of the 7,300mAh Y300 Pro+) now starts at INR 21,898 on Amazon.
